Liz hard at work
« on: Feb 07, 2010, 03:42 pm »
I took this quick video of Liz hard at work on Sparky a couple of weeks ago. She has being go out to her car several times a week and I have been helping her when I can. Some of the smaller parts have been painted and the color is awesome.

Just took off the majority of the remaining paint today.  Still have to go back and get the nooks & crannies, but 80% of it is done.  I'm finally going to be able to stop looking like a smurfette from the dust.

It's taken me about 30hrs to get to this point; 12-1/2 on the roof alone.  For those of you wondering WHY it's taking so long, keep in mind that there was 11 layers of primer, filler, and paint...over 1/2" thick in places.  The d/s quarter was so badly "repaired" (hit a concrete post maybe, then just covered it up in bondo - inside AND out) that it's getting cut off and a new one welded in.

Eyes on the prize...
'66 Restomod in the paintbooth, '71 Grabber Lime fastback, '07 Alloy V6 DD, '89 GT DD. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled mailboxes...
