Cruise for the Fallen 12/5
« on: Nov 30, 2009, 09:21 am »

Thanks to the whole Nation for making the largest turn out for a Stang Nation cruise in our history.  55 cars was the count I had at Forza.  Also big thanks to the VW community who showed up @ Krispy Kreme to show their support.  We'll upload all the hundreds of photos from the day soon, but here's a few for now.

After we'd arrived at Forza a Bald Eagle graced the day with a fly-over.

I'm already there in spirit.  We need to show up in full force on this one.  Hope anyone who doesn't have to work will try to make it out.  This trek is more than just in my mind.

My compliments to teh Stig for the great idea.

Agreed, thanks Stig. I think is important for me to show the kids it is important that we remember these guys. My son is really scared of cops because of the guns they carry. This will be an important lesson why they need to. I hope this doesn't scare him too much. Bar any unforeseen circumstances my family will be there.

Thanks Ken - keep us posted.  If it's still closed by Saturday we'll adapt our termination point to somewhere nearby or in the general vicinity and then walk our cards and flowers over.

@ Brumbie - that should be good.  If we get a good start from the Ram by 10am we should be there and gone by 11am.

Northies, we'd love to have you all rendevous with us and start the cruise at the Northgate Mall (Ram parking lot) @ 10am if at all possible.

Northgate may be a very bad idea because of the holiday rush.  I would reconsider and maybe make Dick's the meet up spot.

I will try to get off work to make it to this once.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death! http://www.realperformancemustangs.com/

This is an awesome response to the horrible tragedy that occurred yesterday.  Thank you so much for organizing this.  Gotta love our Mustang extended family for stepping up to the plate so quickly!

Although I won't be able to attend in person, I will be sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the friends and family members of the fallen officers.  My husband and I drove through Lakewood yesterday on our way home from Oregon, and we could see the police helicopters and heavy police presence.  That community will really need support and healing over the next weeks and months.  Go out in force Stangnation!

I am thinking the tapes and whatnot should be all taken down by Saturday.  I'm sure they still have them up now to conduct their investigations under more detail.

Being in Renton this isn't far from me.  But my car scrapes on Central right in front of the Burger King, so I might have to rally elsewhere.  The construction there is horrendous.

Why not rally at the Regal East Valley 13 theater parking lot. It's got easy on/off to 167 and a lot of parking space.
